Clogs

THE CONCEPT

The concept for clogs is simple and appealing: easy and chic basics with a fresh and modern look.  Terhi Pölkki clogs are hand-made in a clog factory in Myrskylä, Finland, using vegetan leather and Finnish birch wood. There are over 23 stages in making a pair of Terhi Pölkki clogs and it will take an hour to produce them. Vegetable tanned leather is a high quality and environmentally friendly material and will adjust nicely to the shape of foot.

Like all hand-made stuff using natural materials very pair will be unique which is a sign of quality.
The birch wood is one of the hardest tree species but still very fragile material so watch out for knocking
the back of the heel into stairs or edges of sidewalks since the wood might chip.

 SUSTAINABILITY

Terhi Pölkki shoes are made high quality vegetable tanned leather. Vegetable tanned leather is tanned using tannins and other ingredients found in vegetable matter such as tree bark, wood, leaves, fruit and roots.
It is non-irritant, soft to the touch, ages richly over time and therefore metal and chrome-free and biodegrades naturally. Our vegetable tanned leather is classic leather that shows its wear beautifully over time. It is completely natural, meaning it is naked, with no synthetic top finishes.
Natural colours will slowly darken over time due to exposure to the sun.

LEATHER AGING AND PATINA

Vegetan leather will develop a patina over time.
