MERINO WOOL

5 REASONS TO LOVE MERINO WOOL

Did you know that we always use merino wool linings in our Winter boots? It is an extremely good material to keep you warm and dry. Continue reading to find out all the reasons why we love merino wool and keep using it in our shoes.

1. Temperature regulation

Merino wool is amazing at keeping your body at a stable temperature. Merino fibers have a natural crimp that creates very small air pockets which insulate without affecting the fabric’s breathability. So when it’s cold outside, the natural crimps and bends in its fibers trap air, insulating you. And when it’s warm, it transports sweat quickly away from the skin, helping to keep you cool and dry.

2. Moisture absorption

Merino wool can absorb up to one third of its own dry weight without feeling wet. This will help you feel warm and dry when you’re moving and playing outdoors. Synthetic fibers are not porous like merino wool and they absorb less than 7% of their dry weight, feeling wet and thereby cold way faster than merino wool.

3. Durability

Merino wool is extremely durable. Merino fibers are naturally elastic and they return to their original state when the tension on them is released.

4. Sustainability

Merino wool has a number of sustainable benefits, such as being 100% natural, renewable, and biodegradable.

5. Odor resistant

Merino wool is a naturally anti-microbial fabric, which means that it resists odor. So on top of all this, no bad smelling shoes!
